Hot on the heels of it's What Hi-Fi? triumph, Rega Research has just announced the best yet, and ultimate, in its Nd Neodymium moving magnet cartridge range - new Nd9.

Just £695 gets you the highest performance moving magnet Rega makes, with a design befitting of a much more expensive moving coil model - boron cantilever and fine line profile.

To connect the Nd magnet to a Boron rod. Rega partnered with a highly skilled watchmaker to manufacture an ultra-fine connecting tube with different diameters at each end.

Nd9s are shipping in December so there's still time for Santa to book one!

The Nd9 boron cantilever is fitted with a precision perfect fine line nude diamond stylus. This assembly delivers exceptional tracking accuracy, extracting maximum detail from the vinyl surface. Boron is exceptionally light, which allows for faster reaction to the changes in record surface and is highly rigid, which means it bends less, so it transmits motion from the groove more accurately with notably less distortion.

Nd9 is available as a standalone cart, or factory-fitted to Planar 8 turntable at a package price of £2554.
