I should know a thing or two about mid-life crises. I've bought the campervan, the guitars, the double bass and even the Porsche. Looked at the motorbikes too but didn't buy one. Did rent a Honda 750 for a week to do the Wild Atlantic Way and that was enough. When the looks change you need to try new things.

Arcam's mid-life upgrade is different. By adding a + sign to the A5, A15 and A25 they've taken a successful and Award Winning stereo amplifier range and upped the specs while leaving all the looks the same. No new tooling needed for the case but keeps them fresh and more competitive inside. 

Power output remains the same while improvements to the power supplies means lower noise floor and greater dynamic range. Also the bluetooth codec is improved to the latest version and an HDMI eArc socket is added to make it easier to connect a tv.

The starting level A5+ stays at £ 749, A15+ adds £ 100 to £1199 and the A25+ adds £ 200 to £ 1699.

This also means that I have some demo models and new stock to move on at reduced prices. A5+ and A15+ arrive late September, A25+ late October, so they say. Looking forward to having a listen, the current ones sound great and are super value, these will surely be better.
